Home

In the end
I had to sell the house
It was ours;
He couldn’t bear
For it to be mine

So I scoured the city
End to end
Looking for refuge
Money in my pocket
Just enough

I wouldn’t end up homeless
Shrugging myself
and my things
Reluctantly
Inevitably
Into a new place

In the end
I didn’t go very far
I walk past
The same landmarks
From the other direction
