Behind the last door
A baby of legend and myth
But still just a baby

Toys and sweets wait in the dark
Carried by legend
Behind the scattered doors

Gifted by proxy,
The children of believers
Just babies wanting treats

Guided through the dark
Week by week one two three four
Looking for the door

That hides the last treasure
A baby that will save the world
Behind the last door
But still, just a baby.

#7 in the Advent set
and appropriate (ish) to the dverse poetics prompt of 12/10/19: echo
