With neither a whimper nor a roar
(maybe a tiny whimper)
I enter the new year-number sixty-four
And seeing that nothing is simple
I take a deep breath and consider
That my sixty-fourth year will bring
The sixty-fourth winter, summer, fall
The sixty-fourth spring

for the dverse Quadrille prompt of 1/13/20, “roar”

  1. Happy birthday, Xan! It’s my 64th in the summer, so I appreciate the tiny whimper! You reminded me of the Beatles song and the refrain, ‘Will you still need me, will you still feed, me, when I’m sixty four’.
