The daffodils don’t care about the snow
Their weighted heads don’t see the freezing white as ruin
They’ll wait for warmth to melt and when it does
Their faces will assert their right to sun
They’ll turn back up, because they know
This weight will pass as though it never was
We and they are stronger than we show
And life returns to life because
Like flowers we return from every pause.
