Dinner with best friends
Such a normal thing to do
And yet so strange

In wet summer air
How to judge humidity:
How damp is the mask

Early dog walkers
Smiling at me with their eyes.
My glasses fogged up.

Three haiku from the 31 Haiku for July series, pulled for the dverse prompt of 7/30/20: a haiku set.
The final week of July haiku will post tomorrow.

  1. Your Covid-ku hit the mark for me, Xan! I’m allowed out tomorrow for the first time since 13th March, and dinner with friends will indeed be strange, as will wearing a mask and seeing other people in masks. The last haiku resonated with me – my glasses fog up all the time!

    • I went on public trans for the first time since early March. (don’t have a car and I had to go too far to bike). Absolutely surreal.
