I have the body
It means
I see what you did
I have the body, and it blames
Or you blame me
We blame each the other
But I have the body
Although I don’t face my accuser
Who chooses to withdraw
How can there be punishment
Where we have misassigned
The blame

I slept the night through
Except where I woke to reposition the cat
Who was chewing on my toes through the blanket
She settled right down
When I hauled her warmly limp form
Into the crook of my arm
And we both fell, purring,
Back into blameless sleep
