The snow was so fine
You could barely see it falling
Even standing in the middle of the yard
Letting it wet your hair and shoulders
Instead it seemed to laminate
In painted layers
Of diamond glitter
Only visible if you tipped your head just so
In the early morning light
Overlaid with silver
As though the fairies
Had spray-painted the lawn
Like velvet or flocking
A winter wedding gown
Tossed on the garden beds

Every Snowfall 2020-21 #10: steady slow fall, still snowing
